Our tips are meant to be used only as guides and are not substitutes for professional instruction or real world experience. Please do never ever dive beyond your training level and experience. To call off a dive because you feel unwell, unhappy with the dive guide, the safety procedures or the conditions, is never a problem or "stupid". Going on with a dive despite one of the mentioned factors being present can be!

We do accept gear for review but send it back and take no special sponsorship on of any kind! Apart from general tips and advice for the beginning and more advanced diver, we hope you find this useful. Please use the comment function underneath the relevant article if you seek more clarification on an item or can offer more information - it's always welcomed!

We've done our basic training according to PADI and CMAS standards (who hasn't?) and now focus on GUE and special skills, such as ice diving or Apnea, to complement our training and experience. We are not instructors and any advice given is solely the viewpoint of the author unless otherwise stated. We do not advocate a particular dive organization and believe it comes down to the individual and the dive team how well and safe they dive. Dive responsibly and keep up your training and education. It will make your experience safer, both for yourself, for your dive buddies and the marine environment. Buoyancy and trim are too often neglected after initial training, keep getting better - it is also more fun to "dive better"!

Furthermore, we actively support the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and have close ties to major organisations on the Galapagos Islands. We believe the marine environment needs stronger enforcement of standards and laws already on place, and first and foremost people should take a greater interest in what they eat and the sustainability of marine fishing practises.
