INON Fisheye lens for compact cameras

INON Fisheye lens for compact cameras

When using a wideangle lens, or even a fisheye lens, you can get closer to your subject and therefore reducing most of the small floating bits ruining the clarity of the picture. It also offers a more dramatic perspective, and makes it all very much worth the price of admission.

For underwater wet-mountable lenses (meaning you can actually change them in and under water), there is pretty much just one brand - INON.

To your compact camera underwater case you first need to find the matching adapter. Onto this, you can then attach your INON wideangle, fisheye or macro lens of choice.

We've been using the INON UWL-165 Fisheye Lens for about three years now and can attest to its great performance. It is not inexpensive at around 360 Euros, but still cheaper than most dome ports without a lens for SLR cameras, and it makes a very compact system.

Of course a compact camera is rarely up to the image quality of a modern day SLR system, but judge for yourself whether these images below are better than your standard underwater snapshots.
