What is "BluecodProdutions.com?

Honest and objective dive gear reviews!
No random list of twenty pink and purple snorkels, but rather relevant gear that works for divers who don't mind to go diving in cold and dark waters.

The focus is on gear which improves your safety, including obvious items such as reliable Strobe Lights, but occasionally you will find slightly less obvious items, such as reflective SOLAS stickers for your SMB, or a Rescue Streamer, which may not have been on your radar to get, but which can help put you on the radar of others.

Why this site?

The reason I/we started writing reviews on gear we purchased was because often the manufacturer's websites were lacking information depth and/or quality product images. Figuring other divers might be in the same position, all can benefit from better images and more, independent reviews. With a bit of luck, your questions can be answered on this site.

The articles are updated when there is something new worth mentioning - such as the Poseidon XStream Deep 90 being significantly improved by the Mk3 design revision.

This site also functions as our private dive blog so you might see the odd travel report.

So far we've been diving in the United Kingdom (Vobster Quay, Pembrokeshire, ...), Spain (Medes Islands Marine Reserve), Turkey (Fethiye, Kas), Alp Lakes in Germany (Bodensee) and Austria (Attersee, Blindsee, Walchensee, Wolfgangsee, Grüner See, Grundelsee, ...) as well as Fiji (Waya II), New Zealand (Poor Knight's Islands) and Australia (Flinder's Reef; drift dives along Morten Island). Croatia, Thailand and Malta are on the short-term list, and Galapagos, Antarctica and the Polar Regions on the middle-term list. Actually, Antarctica ranks as the ultimate dream-diving destination for us. We will get there.

Furthermore, we actively support the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and have close ties to major organisations on the Galapagos Islands. We believe the marine environment needs stronger enforcement of standards and laws already on place, and first and foremost people should take a greater interest in what they eat and the sustainability of marine fishing practises.
